‘Care’

‘So Wash It Well, Comb It Well’
by Frederick Richardson (1862 – 1937 American)

This card is about self care, an assessment how one can take better care, and if not, why and what can be done. Caring for oneself is on the surface, can be interpreted as selfish, but deeper considerations suggest that by taking care of oneself, one is able to better serve others, care for them better. And self care can take many forms, from an afternoon nap, to turning off the news, to buying a special hand cream, or physical exercise. Whatever the action, remember self care is about being gentle with oneself, and picking directions that supports oneself, mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually. If unsure, start with the body, as its simple wisdom often knows where to go.
