‘Adventure’

This card is about adopting the spirit of adventure, to embrace the unknown, to cast aside doubt and throw one’s fate to the winds. Helen Keller said “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure.” Being adventurous is recognizing that life moves on, no matter what one does, so best to look past any fears and open the eyes wide to new futures.

The adventure card is also about recognizing and responding to that time and place where one cannot stay any further, that it is time to move, to change, and that travel and new horizons beckon, that one must move forward – so to seize the reins so to speak, to rise up and face the winds, knowing that life is insecure but moving on even so.
