‘Surprise’

‘She Stood Before Him’
by Edward McCandlish (1887-1946 American)

Surprise will surprise you!

Surprise arrives unexpectedly,
with gift, laugh and splash,
bringing fresh awareness to
the wonders and blessings
of both day and night.

Surprise reawakens you,
from sleep and slumber,
refreshes sight and feel,
and thought and sense,
to here and now.

May Surprise visit
with her lighthearted
and spirited presence,
awakening you to life
and love all around.
