‘Acceptance’

‘Fairy Resting in Fern Leaves’
by Amelia Jane Murray (Lady Oswald) (1800 – 1896 British)

This card is about the freedom gained from acceptance, the healing to be found, the letting go of that which weighs. The gift of acceptance is being freed from attachment, wanting this, expecting that. Acceptance is the seeing of what is, and action that responds to it, making space, working around, moving on.

There is great healing in this card, rest and release. To accept is to cease resisting, trying to change, to flow rather than force. To accept is to quiet the struggles of mind, and body, and heart and allow the cooling touch of peace to enter one’s being. May you find the strength to accept that which one cannot change, may you see the wisdom to let be that which is as is, may you learn and grow from that left behind.
