What are the Fae?

So more discussion about fairies, and what are the fae? This video from Black Dragon Tavern gives some good information and perspectives as we look for answers to many, many questions. This video adds good backdrop to many of the topics discussed on this site, such as origins, definitions of fae, fairy, fayfolk, and fairies in particular and how they are unique to primarily Scotland and Ireland. In particular I like the discussion about the natural aspects of the fae, and how that implies and explains many of the aspects of dealing with the fae and their nature, such as, accepting food or gifts, sharing magic, stepping into fairy rings and other type stuff.
