Celebration

May Celebration fill your life,
with her joy and delight,
with happiness and laugh,
with beauty and abundance,
an overflowing cup of plenty.

May you dance, may you sing,
may Celebration fill your heart
with warm love and soft breath,
with the gift and reassurance
of life loving you.

Celebration brings her own party,
there is nothing to do but join,
celebrate the present moment,
this day that is precious,
a time without price.

Celebration strikes to the heart of things, asks the question of what is it to be alive. At its essence, there is no reason to celebrate no more than there is reason to not. True celebration is a rebellion in a world of a thousand distractions, noise, seriousness and the ten thousand ills of careless or unconscious living. And there are a thousand thousand ways to celebrate, greeting the colors of a new dawn, looking into the eyes of a child, finding gratefulness in the sustenance of food, the soothing warmth of a cup of tea, sharing the laughter of friends, listening to the sound of a nightingale, resting in the touch of love, simply sitting in peace. Gratitude is celebration, happiness is celebration, love is celebration, kindness is celebration. Bring all these together and you have a party, a party of one or party of many, it does not matter. The goddess Celebration does not need the other, it is a deep wellspring that comes from within, an understanding, a defiance, a good hearty laugh, at oneself, the world, the absurdity, the divinity.
