Goddess Within, Goddess Without

by John Simmons (1823—1876 British)
The religion of fairies is goddess, the condensation of all things feminine. They are attracted to Goddess the same as moths to light. Fairies are reflections of the goddess mother. The fairy Beauty reflects the beauty of goddess, the fairy Love reflects the love of goddess, the fairy Bliss reflects the bliss of goddess. All mirrors shine towards goddess, an infinite light, outward shining. A fairy facing goddess and goddess facing fairy is the religion of the faery, the deepest devotion, the highest aesthetic.
Fairies take the names of the aspects of Goddess, be it Light, or Freedom, or Silence, whatever resonates closest to their individual beings, incarnations, heart. The fairy Bliss reflects bliss, the fairy Laughter reflects laughter, the fairy Joy reflects joy. Goddess is the singularity of those reflections, shining back. Joy reflects joy, goddess reflects joy back to Joy. It is the nature of Goddess, taking in all reflection, reflecting it back a thousand fold, a thousand thousand fold, an infinite fold, such is her nature, goddess of all things. Goddess is the wellspring of all fae, the luminosity of each and all.
There are a thousand names of goddess, truth and play, butterfly and bluebell, starlight and moonbright, rose and refuge, touch and tender, silence and bow, way and wonder, wish and will – each naming bringing their unique blessing into the world, a sharing of insight and understanding, prayer and promise, flowers of the field offering their nectars. Fairies are vessels of goddess, reflections of reflections, coming from within without.
In this way, the fae are sister spirits to one and each other, Joy reflecting to Love, Love reflecting to Peace, Peace reflecting to Truth, and so on and on and on, an eternal dance of light, creating all the colors of the rainbow, all the loves of heart, all the bliss of spirit. Every fairy sees goddess in each other, a deep reverence, a silent prayer, a recognition of the divine, of goddess.
In the deepest spaces of fae devotion, there is no goddess, and no fae, they are one and each other, a neitherness of here nor there, the top and bottom of breath, the outer innermost reach of heart, the infinite space of spirit. In that within without is magic, is deepest rest, is soul healing, returning home. May Goddess touch you with her light, as water onto earth to nourish, soothe, heal, remind you her divinity is a reflection of your own, the fairy within.
