There are a number of things one can do to increase their chances of meeting a fairy, and I use the word ‘chance’ purposely here, as you never know what fairy one may meet. The can be nice, they can be troublesome, they can leave you wishing you hadn’t or wanting more, all depends on chance. Also it is a good idea to be clear about why you want to meet a fairy (or fae), as they can leave lasting impressions or imprints on you, these things are usually never quite as simple as one would think. Maybe it is simple curiosity, or wanting to engage them in some magic, or ask a favor, see one because of their exotic beauty, or just to share… In any case, there are no right or wrong answers, but sincerity matters. While only some are good at soul or mind reading, most all have really good intuition and no fae likes lies or deception of any kind. That said, there are some guidelines, or rules one can follow for meeting fairies, listed here in no particular order…

The Night Rule – Seek out times of softer light, the late evenings or early morning, or late nights.

The Quiet Rule – Stop talking, become receptive, like an empty teacup. Silence is sharing.

The Nature Rule – Seek out natural settings, away from noise and activity, no phones, cameras and the like.

The Alone Rule – Be by yourself, childlike, simple, others create complications, distractions.

The Place Rule – Seek out hidden places, go to where there is refuge, peacefulness, tranquility, natural environments away from everything. Sometimes you go to them, sometimes they come to you.

The Space Rule – Create a sacred space with a few special things, maybe a nice fabric spread in a room, under a tree, a candle or fruit, flowers, not too much, less is more, whatever creates nowness, awareness, like a zen tea ceremony. Sometimes you go to them, sometimes they come to you.

The Empty Rule – Leave go of expectations, allow happening, stop doing.

The Secret Rule – Keep to yourself, and anything that happens, secrets create trust.

The Share Rule – Be open, of good heart and spirit, willing to listen or be heard.

The Be Rule – Be yourself, sincere, authentic, true, relax, stay alert.

So the above is a pretty good list of stuff to do, staying with the more neutral approach. There are other more formal things like chants, and spells and incense and so forth, but that is of another intention, usually magic and so forth. The above is about invitation, and inviting the right kind of fairy, and a sharing space rather than wanting something. All kinds of wisdoms and insights might be gained in such a meeting, such a time and place. And there is a certain protection in the above approach, by not annoying a fairy, instead just gaining their curiosity, keeping things plain and simple. Also it is a good idea to review Fairy Etiquette before meeting.
