Of Light Fairies…

The contemporary series ‘The Winx Saga’ introduces a couple of newer classes, or subclasses of fairies, including mind fairies and light fairies. Light fairies are somewhat of a unique class of fairy, and not strictly belonging to any other element class, although overall they might be considered a subclass of fire fairies, but very special.

All fairies are imbued with some qualities of light magic, some more than others but it is a universal trait shared across the spectrum. Light fairies are fairies that are naturally aligned with light and specialize in light magic, and all the benefits and healings that go with it. It might be easy to confuse light fairies with angels, who also have a lot of light magic, but there are distinct differences to be remembered, primarily angels are basically made of light and fairies are basically made of magic.
The primary talent light fairies have is simply the ability to control, bend and play with light. Talents range from training fireflies to creating rainbows to illuminating dark spaces to moving sunbeams around to favoring plants with better lighting for growth to light games and so forth. Given the number and types of fairies in general, there is a lot of different kinds of light magic. For instance, some fairies simply glow when they sleep, others can hold an orb of light in their hands, while others are good at astral projection via light waves.

Naturally light fairies take names related to various aspects of light, such as Iridessa, Luna, Sparkle, Lumina, Glory, Helios, Fira, Glissandra, Luminaria, Moonglow and Fawn as examples. Most fairies just play with light, as it comes naturally to them, and they don’t think much of it, but light fairies take things to the next level. They can create intense bursts of light for sudden illumination or defense, create partial or complete illusions through light bending, or make themselves or places invisible, or create light beacons. Other magic includes creating holograms, working with reflections, coloring light, capturing light via black hole like fairy magic, and manipulating light energy related phenomenon such as x-rays, electricity, the entire spectrum of electromagnetics, and similar such. The list goes on.
At the source of all this light magic is the sun. Light fairies are mindful all light is originated from the sun, including sunlight, sunrise, moonlight, starlight, firelight, twilight, lantern light, candlelight, rainbows, the northern lights and on. Aligning with light magic, via fairies or magic is tremendously healing, like love. The very act of illumination, whatever form, chases away fears, misunderstandings, past hurts, cold, loneliness and more. Light magic in all if forms can be very subtle or very strong, can be simple play to intense energy and healing or protection. Stand in sunlight each day, stand in moonlight each night, close your eyes and see the internal spark of life within and how it resonates with all light fairies.
